It is not possible to order abortion pills online without having a consultation with a clinician. During an abortion consultation, we ask about your pregnancy and medical history. This is to make sure abortion pills are a suitable option for you. GP surgeries are not able to prescribe abortion pills for collection at a pharmacy, nor any stores like Boots or Superdrug. In the UK, abortion pills must be supplied to patients through a licensed clinic or hospital.

What Are Abortion Pills?
A medical abortion involves using medication to terminate a pregnancy. This process requires taking two different medicines, usually at separate times, and is a suitable option for pregnancies up to 9 weeks and 6 days. During your telephone or face-to-face consultation, the nurse or midwife will talk through exactly how you should use the pills and anything to look out for before going ahead with the abortion.

Abortion Pills by Post: At-Home Abortion
Our abortion pills by post treatment pack come with an instruction leaflet. This leaflet gives full details on how and when to take the pills.
When using medical abortion pills, it is important to leave 24 - 48 hours between taking the first pill (Mifepristone) and the second pills (Misoprostol).
Bleeding usually begins around 2 to 4 hours after taking the second pills. There will also be pain and cramping. Most people will not bleed after taking the first pill. The abortion usually takes between 2 - 12 hours to complete after taking the second pills, but for some it is longer. You can make a plan for when you will take the second pills: a day when you can stay at home and be as comfortable as possible.
It is a legal requirement for you to take the first pill before you are 10 weeks pregnant.
