Abortion Pills Online

Can You Get Abortion Pills Online?

It is not possible to order abortion pills online without having a consultation with a clinician. During an abortion consultation, we ask about your pregnancy and medical history. This is to make sure abortion pills are a suitable option for you. GP surgeries are not able to prescribe abortion pills for collection at a pharmacy, nor any stores like Boots or Superdrug. In the UK, abortion pills must be supplied to patients through a licensed clinic or hospital.

The NUPAS abortion pills by post service allows eligible patients to take the medical abortion pills at home without having to attend a clinic. We offer discretion with every patient and ensure our services meet your needs as best as they can.

If you are looking for abortion pills online, call NUPAS on 0333 004 6666 to arrange a telephone appointment.

What Are Abortion Pills?

A medical abortion involves using medication to terminate a pregnancy. This process requires taking two different medicines, usually at separate times, and is a suitable option for pregnancies up to 9 weeks and 6 days. During your telephone or face-to-face consultation, the nurse or midwife will talk through exactly how you should use the pills and anything to look out for before going ahead with the abortion.

Online abortion pills can only be delivered to you through the post once you complete your consultation and we are certain they are appropriate for you.

Abortion Pills Online: Understanding the Process

It's essential to understand the process, the timeline, and any potential risks or side effects before choosing abortion. Always make sure to go through a reputable provider, like ourselves, and seek medical advice when necessary.

Discussing Pregnancy Options:
We will ask you about the pregnancy options you’ve considered. These may include:

  • Continuing the pregnancy and parenting the child after birth
  • Continuing the pregnancy and exploring adoption or foster care after birth
  • Ending the pregnancy with an abortion

This decision is entirely personal to you. It’s important that you make this choice without feeling pressured or forced by anyone.

We can provide information on the different types of abortion: Medical Abortion (abortion pills) and Surgical Abortion.

If you choose to continue the pregnancy, it’s essential to inform your GP or midwife as soon as possible to begin antenatal care.

We will ask your reasons for wanting an abortion. This is to check legal conditions for us to offer treatment. Two NUPAS doctors will review the consultation notes to authorise treatment.

Abortion Pills by Post: At-Home Abortion

Our abortion pills by post treatment pack come with an instruction leaflet. This leaflet gives full details on how and when to take the pills.

When using medical abortion pills, it is important to leave 24 - 48 hours between taking the first pill (Mifepristone) and the second pills (Misoprostol).

Bleeding usually begins around 2 to 4 hours after taking the second pills. There will also be pain and cramping. Most people will not bleed after taking the first pill. The abortion usually takes between 2 - 12 hours to complete after taking the second pills, but for some it is longer. You can make a plan for when you will take the second pills: a day when you can stay at home and be as comfortable as possible.

It is a legal requirement for you to take the first pill before you are 10 weeks pregnant.

NHS Funded Abortion Pills

NUPAS are an NHS-funded provider, meaning most of our patients do not need to pay for our services. Different providers are NHS-funded for different areas, get in touch with us today on 0333 004 6666 to find out your eligibility.
