This is a legal requirement for all abortion providers.The information we send includes our patients’ date of birth, postcode, ethnicity, marital status, number of previous pregnancies and gestation of pregnancy before the abortion. It will not be possible to identify you from the data we send.
The information is used for statistical purposes by the Department of Health and Social Care. Abortion statistics for England and Wales are published each year by the Office of National Statistics (ONS).
