Once fitted an IUS can be used for 3-6 years, depending on the brand.

After an IUD is fitted it works for 5-10 years, depending on the brand.

Both an IUD and IUS can be taken out sooner if you choose. Your fertility returns to normal as soon as it’s taken out.
